The spokesman of South Sudan’s Vice President Riek Machar has told Al Jazeera that a 2018 peace deal, which ended five years of civil war, is on the brink of collapse.
The government has been carrying out air strikes in the northeastern Upper Nile State.
President Salva Kiir has sacked and arrested dozens of Machar's supporters in recent weeks.

Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb reports from Yambio in Western Equatoria State.
