US aid suspension threatens vital HIV treatment in Zimbabwe, putting thousands at risk

Zimbabwe’s health workers are uncertain about the impact of US aid cuts as their government struggles to fund its public health system. Zimbabwe has heavily relied on foreign aid, receiving over $200m annually from the US for HIV support. Since 2006, the US has contributed more than $1.7bn.
But President Donald Trump has suspended all US foreign assistance for 90 days, pending review.
Elon Musk, who heads the newly created US Department of Government Efficiency, said he hopes to 'shut' the aid agency altogether.

Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports from Epworth, Zimbabwe.
