Somalia's security forces report a significant breakthrough in their fight against ISIL, claiming to have killed hundreds of fighters in an ongoing offensive in the northeastern state of Puntland. Several towns and villages have been recaptured. The US military has also been involved, conducting air strikes in support of the operation.
