Pakistan-Afghanistan border closure causes millions in losses for both nations

1 דקות קריאה

The Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan has been closed after Islamabad accused Afghan security forces of constructing a new border post on Pakistani territory. In retaliation, Pakistan has shut the crossing, halting trade and travel between the two countries. The closure is costing both nations a combined 3 million dollars daily, severely impacting their economies. The Taliban government has denied the allegations, but tensions remain high at the border.

Al Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder reports from the Torkham crossing on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
