Hamas releases American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander from Gaza

Hamas has released Edan Alexander, a Israeli American hostage held in Gaza who was taken captive while serving in the Israeli army during Hamas's attack on 7 October. Edan is the last living US hostage and was released after direct negotiations between the US and Hamas. The UN welcomed Edan's release and called for a ceasefire in Gaza
