A year after student protests rocked US campuses, demanding universities sever ties with Israel over its war on Gaza, a new documentary titled Encampments premieres at a film festival in Copenhagen. The film captures months of demonstrations, with a focus on Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian refugee-turned-graduate student, now facing deportation from the US. Columbia University in New York witnessed some of the most intense protests, with students setting up encampments as a form of resistance.
Al Jazeera’s Charlie Angela reports from Copenhagen.
