Brazil’s Supreme Court has ruled that former President Jair Bolsonaro must stand trial for allegedly orchestrating an attempted coup in 2023. Bolsonaro, who lost the 2022 election to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, is accused of supporting efforts to overturn the results and cling to power.
